Sturgeon was responding to a critic’s claim that 90% of all sci fi was bad and he said so what, 90% of opera is bad. 90% of plays are bad. Something being 90% bad is not noteable. Putting it on a personal level, if you are a creative person and you just made something you don’t like, well keep chugging– a generally agreed upon average win ratio is 90%. Even the cheetah only gets its game on 90% of its attacks. Of course “I Have The Same Win Rate As A Cheetah” doesn’t really ring, that’s why I made this.
